Brainhunter is currently seeking “IAM Access Operations Manager” to work for our valued Financial Service Client. The position requires the successful consultant to be on-site 3 days a week either  in Toronto/London /Winnipeg location.

Role profile description:

The Manager, IAM Access Operations role will lead the IAM Operations supporting Critical IAM operations across User access lifecycle, Privilege access management, CIAM, MFA, Directory services for Client and family of companies. Reporting to the Director, Logical access and Governance Operations, this role will be responsible to lead major transitions projects and operations across overall IAM domain for our client and their family of companies and ensure the team delivers on time value to stakeholders. Manage the operations teams and to ensure it is operating at desired levels through proactive monitoring/tuning. Establish and maintain key operational metrics that demonstrate the health and performance of the Overall operations - Participate in operational integration efforts with IAM engineering and other support teams
  • Responsible for supporting the planning, design and operationalization of enterprise-level identity and access management (IAM) operations capabilities.
  • Manage the user Identity and access lifecycle management team responsible for the daily provisioning/deprovisioning of user identity and access.
  • Identify and resolve gaps in the business processes which may include security/authorization set-up, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation.
  • Serve as a trusted adviser to the business stakeholders and understand their core business processes, business priorities which can be enhanced using IAM solutions.
  • Assist in alignment of overall security governance as it relates to IAM with IAM Engineering and architecture.
  • Single point of contact for all Internal \External Audit\Compliance coordination and remediation.
  • Monitor compliance with policies, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions with SLA’s.
  • Ensure documentation and maintenance of processes and procedures.
  • Work closely with Engineering to ensure new capability rollouts are integrated within IAM ops.
  • Ensure training and Awareness across IAM ops for all new enhancements and feature rollouts.
  • Liaison between supplier Ops team and CL engineering\Architecture teams
  • Responsible for day-to-day operational review and governance, including holding Service Provider accountable for contracted services and service levels.
  • Continuously improve processes for the access management team to enhance the IT security posture at Client.
  • Responsible for inter-team dependency identification, communication, and issue escalation.
  • Work and support IAM analytics team with reporting metrics and design KPI\KRA for different stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain IAM program policies and procedures as part of the transition and BAU.
  • Ensure operational challenges and escalations from end user and business stakeholders are well documented and added to Engineering pipeline for implementation including automation opportunities.
  • Support leadership to help create IAM operations Strategy to drive maturity forward.
  • Oversee escalations, customer inquiries and support tickets resolutions pertaining to IAM ops.
  • Provides operational guidance and direction to influence technical decisions.
  • Keep up to date with the latest industry developments and trends.
  • Work with internal customers, business analysts, and application teams to understand evolving access requirements.
  • Demonstrate excellent management skills and promote teamwork and individual accountability with engagement and use available technology, tools, and Client’s resources effectively to deliver services.


Any specific tools/skillset:
  • A degree, preferably computer science related, or a combination of education and related experience.
  • 7+ years of experience with running and managing large IAM operations across multiple domains.
  • Hands on supervisory or managerial experience with a proven ability to engage, motivate, evaluate, and mentor team members and managers.
  • Eye for Metrics and reporting with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of directory services, multi-factor authentication and single sign-on, IGA technologies.
  • Working knowledge of the ITIL and ITSM processes, Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
  • Critical thinker with a high degree of business acumen and decision making.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change
  • Experience with identifying and developing talent.
  • Ability to structure work assignments required to get to desired outcomes.
  • Great stakeholder management skills and excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across multiple geographies and business functions.
